Brexit and Net Zero
Why do people vote for crazy things like Brexit and more pollution?
Possibly because the issues are not quite as binary/ Manichean as they appear.
Take Brexit: although David Cameron was lazy in not choosing a different option for success (66% instead of 50%) he did try to change things before and hit a brick wall.

On Net Zero: it’s clearly a scam (even though good intentioned) and will fall apart at some stage ( probably before doing any good for the climate).
So, coming out against it is probably a wise (but cynical) move electorally.
Forget the planet, there’s votes in them thar hills.
Do you think just possibly “heavy handed”is popular with focus groups? Can’t go wrong, just look at “light touch regulation” next time you’re swimming with the turds.
