Here’s a video of Mark Owens.

He broke his back and used this method to relieve the pain- of course he could be lying and Dr Hanscom could be lying and I could be lying when I say it worked for me and 8 other people but why? There’s no money involved here- it’s free, all you need is a pen and a piece of paper.
Can Dr David Hanscom’s methods cure (some) chronic pain?
Write down all of your thoughts- 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, then take the paper, rip it up and throw it away. Do it every day until the pain has gone. You are telling your unconscious mind, which runs 99% of the body’s functions, that the conscious mind is taking back control and refusing to accept the pain.
This works for (some) chronic pain, it doesn’t work for acute pain. If you’ve got acute pain, there’s a reason for it- your body is telling you to stop doing something which is hurting you. We’re not saying you can use your brain to control reality, we’re saying you can disassociate yourself from your thoughts. You can’t control your thoughts but you can separate yourself from them.
As with good habits, your brain creates, then strengthens, the neural pathways to make your response stronger each time. This leads to better and better golf/tennis/drawing but more intense, and unnecessary, pain.
Your pain is in your brain- this doesn’t mean the pain isn’t real, it just means the brain may be reinforcing the idea of pain to give you more pain than you need to suffer because of the underlying problem- it doesn’t mean you’re faking the pain, it means there could be a way to reduce your pain by influencing your subconscious and using the plasticity of your brain to heal. What have you got to lose?- only your pain and your self respect by doing something that sounds so obviously fake (but actually works!).

I need the data.
